US 64 Corridor Study

The North Carolina Department of Transportation has initiated a comprehensive study to develop a plan for the future of US 64 and NC 49 from Charlotte and Statesville to Raleigh. In the TARPO area, the corridor will run through Chatham County into Wake County. This plan will assess the mobility and connectivity needs of people and freight to and through the central portion of the state, foster economic growth and development, relieve congestion on I-40 and I-85, and optimize transportation funding.
